I'm not sure how much Australian traffic comes through here (or if anyone would be willing to post a bass to Australia at my expense) but I'm after a good 3/4 ply Bass and live in Australia.

I'd prefer a European Bass, but anything good will do.

I can get a bass from Upton posted here for around $3000, so that's my max price including postage.

Funny - I'm after pretty much the same thing, and wondered how you got on! I haven't had much luck really finding any.

I recently bought "unseen" a Lachlan Parker ($3500) solid from him. Everybody comments on my great sound (tone), yet it is a quieter bass which is fine for me as I live (practice) in a flat and will play amplified.

My only gripe is he seems to like a large (2.5mm) scoop so be sure to get that to your liking before postage.

He does have some very cheap laminates if budget gets in the way, though they are all chinese if thats an issue. Apart from his liking of a large scoop, Peter seems a decent person and it may be a way to get a usable instrument untill the budget improves. It may be worth the cost of a phone call if in doubt about the quality of his stock.
