Is 1/4 time 1 beat per measure with quarter notes?
Are all the beats accented, like listening to a metronome?
Thanx

i would imagine that's correct, although i can't see the use of such a time sig. if every beat has the accent, then no beats have accents - i can't imagine music without accents.

sorta like sentences without caps or punctuation. :D

Thanks for the reply John, Iask cuz some of the digital 4 tracks I am looking at include 1/4 time along with 2/4, 4/4, 5/4 etc....but no plain metronome. Sometimes I just want a "click track" to practice to especially since I am experimenting with playing from one time sig to another and back and therefore would not want an accented beat.
I was hoping 1/4 would be the "plain" metronome.

1/4 can come in handy as a time signature between other time signatures. I have seen times when it wuld be 6/8 then a measure of 1/4 back into 6/8 or into 7/8 or 12/8. if it would be lust 4 measures or 1/4 I wouldnt understand it though.
