I am fairly new to te whole bass scene, but have come to this question many times and from many different people, "Should I use a pick?", Well, as an aspiring and relativly inexperienced younge bassist I have used both my fingers and a pick. Sometimes I just have to get down, nothing but the pick will do for the heavy riffs I have to play sometimes, while others I can go without, I want to know what you guys (and ladies be there any) think

You answered your question already for yourself...use the technique that gives you the right sound for that particular musical situation...you don't need to ask for permission to use a certain technique :D
