Yesterday I was listening to a record that was a duet between (vocalist) Sheila Jordon and Arild Anderson. Does anyone happen to know what it's called? I believe it's under Jordan's name and that it isn't on ECM.
Thanks.
P.S. It's a wonderful recording. Do any of you guys play duets with vocalists?

Sanni and I have played duo a lot over the last couple of years. I call it "Music Minus Nothin' " :)
Once you get past the ability factor -- of both the bassist and singer -- you have to have good chemistry and learn what kind of tunes work in that context, etc.

In short, if a melody doesn't stand well by itself, it won't work well in a two-voice format. With only two (improvised) voices, things can be ambiguous, and an ambiguous melody that relies heavily on harmony will just be empty and fold on the missing part.
I'm always up for playing.

Fantastic album, indeed.
Published on the Steeple Chase label in 1977.
Simply called "Sheila".
