Ummm......I feel pretty stupid............but can someone out there gimme a hand.......i completely forget the formation of a pentatonic scale and I need it for something I'm figuring out right now.....Thanks in advance.

Gard 09-25-2000, 12:31 AM There are 2 kinds of pentatonic scales: Major Pentatonic: R, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th example: A B C# E F# Minor Pentatonic: R, minor3rd, 4th, 5th, minor7th example: A C D E G The minor pentatonic is the most common one (lotta blues and rock is based on it). Another useful thing to be aware of is that an A minor pentatonic is the same 5 notes that make up C major pentatonic, and vice-versa. Hope that helps... |
