but anyway, i need a good mixing board that is self powered and afforable. i only need about 6 channels, but it needs to be loud enough to be heard over Marshall stacks and a loud drummer. any suggestions? thanks

whats your budget?...Mackie 808s or 808m are nice powered mixers loaded with features and sound real nice..competetivly priced with others in it's class,and I think they make a 6 channel version too,but I don't think it's as powerful as the 808.good luck on your quest....

i'm looking in the range of 600-1000 canadian(about 400-650 american)

unfortunately the Mackie is a little more than your lookin to spend.so I would look at Yamaha,Fender,Peavey or look in the used market.maybe you can find a Mackie..happy hunting..:)
