Alright so I've tried the whole local music school thing, and the teachers didnt seem too dedicated. I was just wondering how to go about finding a private teacher. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Well Jazz A Lot, if you lived in Indiana, their is a real good player/teacher that I take music theory/ear training from! I took lessons at first and the guy teaching was a guitar player not a bassist! So I bought a book and taught myself then about 5 months ago! I read at the music store that I've been doing business with since I started playing! His name is Scott Pazera and is a Jazz player!
You just have to look around! I live hear by Chicago! So I have my options! If you like you can check out this guy at www.scottpazera.com
