I'm looking to purchase a Kay, but have been unable to find one that fits my budget. I have apx $1000 to spend and I would be perfectly happy with one that has allot of blemishes and surface damage, as long as it's still in good playable condition. If anyone has one or can refer me to some one who does I would be extremely grateful,

Try ebay; there's usually one or two in decent condition up for auction at any given moment.

Matthew....dont be too anxious to spend $1000 on the first Kay you see...granted Kays are hard to come by..they are out there though....I got mine for $300 including the bag ....I would recomend going to as many shows as you can where upright basses are being played and ask those cats if they know anyone...thats how i found mine...good luck!
