I am building a 6 string fretless. It is 2 inches at the nut and I am having trouble locating anything that wide. I have checked Stewmac, Warmoth, and LMII but I still havent found anything. Am I missing something.

Or buy a turning block of lignum vitae and have enough nut stock for 30 basses.

Some renovation places have scrap micarta that they will give to people who ask nicely.

Great, all I need to do now is wait until it decomposes so that I can carve it.

Uh, we have brass and black or white corian that big... we have to, because our 6-string Gecko is 2 1/4" wide.

Try http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Hardware/Nuts.htm

You know, now that I look at it, our site doesn't say we carry that size! I'll get right on it - thanks for pointing it out!
