I was innocently marking up a Lemur catalog with a highlighter this morning (I'm trying to be considerate and save my wife from the evil stress of malls at Christmastime), and I ran across a book called "An Organized Method of String Playing" by Murry Grodner. It seems to be adapted from Janos Starker's method, and claims to be "A complete exploration of left hand problems and potential, adapted to and makes use of the three fingering systems: 1-2-4, 1-2-3, and 1-2-3-4." Does anybody know anything about this book, or Starker's method?

It is a good book. the one for bass by Grodner is good as well. The serial exercises ( i think that is what they are called) are good. you could get the starker book but for a bass, grodners book is what you want. of course , this is only my opinion.
