Anyone know of any Johnny Dyani recordings? The only one I have is one with Don Cherry with "Lonely Flower in the Village," "Biko," etc. The energy of his playing is just great, but I haven't seen anything else by him...

I did a quick search at

http://www.jpc.de/

and they have 23 CDs in stock where he participates (which is a lot as compared to only a single one at amazon). There are five recordings from the 1980s (but none more recent) under his name.

I have to admit that I know not a single one of them. But I would be interested in recommendations, too.

Check out his work on "Echoes of Africa"! No hot bass playing pyrotechnics, just great bass playing.
