Great shape Accugroove Whappo Jr. New lighter model with neo drivers. IMHO the #1 single cab solution to any venue. I played this cab at a few practices and thats it. Really amazing clarity/punch that I have yet to hear an any other speaker line. Got this cab from TB'er Hollowman (great guy) and its in the same condition that I got it in (I'd say excellent.) Looks great sounds even better

Ok, so after a while of playing around I think I have come up with an idea for a warmoth custom I want to order.

Mahogany Jbass Body 4 string (undecided)
Bartolini J-pickup (neck)
Bartolini MM-pickup (bridge)
Badass-II Bridge
Rear control cavity & 9V battery cavity
Bartolini Active Electronics (3-band EQ)
Pickup 3-way Toggle switch
All finished in transparent red

I came up with this idea a few days ago. There's a reason for everything on there. I love the sound and feel of mahogany. I love using Bartolini electronics because they sound slightly warmer compared to EMGs.

I play a mixture of hard rock and metal, so I wanted something that could do both. I found the MM Stingrays/Bongos I have played sound very good with metal styles, whereas Jazz basses don't quite hit the spot for me. However, I prefer the Jazz body compared to the MM. That's where this hybrid design fits nicely.

The controls are what I have on all my basses. I like to have some small EQ on there so I can make some quick alterations between songs (which I sometimes do). The toggle switch is to help get a slightly different sound with every song or style. I love using active electronics too just to get the maximum amount of output (never been keen on passive basses, not enough power).

I decided on the red because I havn't got a bass in red yet and I have always wanted one (I have 2 black basses at the moment which are both quite boring, need something to brighten up things :P)

I'm getting it from warmoth so it's gunna be roughly $400 on my last check. If anyone knows of anywhere that may do it cheaper feel free to leave a comment here. If anyone has any ideas on how to adjust my design, a comment would be nice.

Never gigged. Comes with mint condition case and all paperwork. I will also throw in a nice Levy's 4" leather strap and chrome Schaller strap locks to sweeten the deal. The bass wieghs 9lbs 8oz. Balances nicely. Sounds and plays awesome. And has nice low action. There are not alot of these around so it's sure to be a collector's item.

So why the sale you ask? The bass is just not my cup of tea.
And I found another bass online that I want. You know how gas goes.

New it cost me $2,100.00 one month ago. I am selling for $1,700.00 shipped in the CONUS. Payment to be made by either Paypal or U.S. Postal Money Orders. Sorry no trades.

Come and get it.

Dear All,

I'm still deliberating about the design of my second DIY Bass, and this time I'm going for a kind of Gary Willis/Alain Caron inspired 6 string Fretless.

From my experiences with my first project, the 'sound' of Maple makes the sound quite bright, and (for want of a less agressive term) 'harsh'. As a consequence, it's hard to get a mellow sound from that Bass.

Does anyone have suggestions for woods I can look at, in a similar price range to Maple that would be a more mellow alternative?

I know pickups are an important part of the final sound of the Bass, and I'm toying with 3 ideas:

* A single magnetic pickup, positioned close to the bridge as with Gary's Bass
* A piezo system, like that in the Hipshot bridges, and warm the sound up through EQing
* A LightWave system, although OEM units for left-handed instruments are still under development

The third option may be completely out of my price range, considering that I've a lot more time than money at the moment! I'm going to go with a through-neck design, and keep the structure of the Bass simple, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I've searched the forum and found a few threads about this issue, but none of the threads had a solution or conclusion.

This issue persists with most if not all of these combos. There's no option to turn the tweeter down/off.

What are my options? Stuff a sock into the tweeter's horn? ._.

Please don't bother e-mailing me about high end stuff- I am looking for something that belongs on this bass !

Cheers
