It depends on the sound and level of final "working" condition. A project like this, with a shop bass, is a crap shoot, though. It's probably got no pedigree to fall back on. The sooner it gets strung up so that tone can be assessed the better.

There are plenty of 10K new and vintage working basses out there now, so I'm pretty sure the risk of 10k isn't worth it.

We do not often get to see the rare "self-measuring" bass, eh?

As for the "1748" rubber-stamp, I dunno. Model number? Phone number? Golf score?
