1941 Kay M-1 Bass on Craigslist

I saw this listing for a vintage 1941 Kay M-1 Bass on Craigslist.

From what I have read online, the $3000 being asked for sounds a bit pricey for a Kay. I'm no expert. Opinions anyone?

I paid more than that for my '42 M1 but it had been repaired by Ken Smith and looked and -- better yet -- sounded great, so it was worth every penny to me.

I agree - I have seen a wide range of prices ($900-4500) but it is essential that it sounds how you want your bass to sound. That way it is a good deal for you.
Good luck in the hunt,

Sounds a little high.

Knowing what is available new in the ply market for $3,000, I certainly would not spend that amount on a Kay with problems, no matter how minor.
