Question 1959 King Mortone Bass

Can anyone help me figure out if this King Mortone bass has been refinished? Were they ever made in this color? Does the finish affect the value? I think it dates to 1959 as the label inside shows number 3840. Thanks for any help you can give!

I've seen a few blonde King Moretones that looked original. The completely King intact decal below the button would seem to confirm it on this one.

It looks just like one that was up for sale in Buffalo a few years back. Very blonde, completely original. That particular finish doesn't quite work for me, but is just right for some...

Cheers,

It's an original finish, and it looks in great condition ... through the soft focus little pictures at least.
Very desirable to some people. 2 or 3 have come up in the last year or so, worth $2-3k to the right person, maybe.
