1974 Engelhardt EC1 - what is the value

I bought this thing in a pawn shop 8 years ago. Had a pro set up, with a tailpiece wire added, fretboard stripped down and flattened, adjustable bridge added, new strings, back of neck stripped. The serial number is 10838, which I looked up on the internet and I think dates the bass as 1974. I am thinking of selling it. Any thoughts on the value? It is in good shape with the expected number of dings for its age. Thanks!

I believe you need to be a supporting member to ask values of things.

contact Steve Swan in Burlingame CA and see if he can't help you. Major dealer in used uprights and a very good guy.

When you say flattened do you mean completely flat? No radius to the fingerboard?

Sorry--didn't know that rule. I just joined yesterday.

On many upright basses apparently there is a hump in the neck around the octave that causes buzz problems. This hump was flattened. The radius of the fretboard is still there.
