What a great sounding bass! Really lovely tone and of course superb playing. Do you think he's using Spiros?
Thanks for sharing.

Could be spiros but not completely sure. But what surprised me is that i don't see any pickup cables or mics on the bass. Just those two overheads. If it is unamped .....wow.

Mission accomplished it is never nice to suffer alone.

The Cleveland will have to wait but i put spiro mittels on my Christopher hybrid at end of last year and they are really starting settle. I must say i enjoy them. No wonder they are considered a standard for jazz strings.

He does make any bass sound great! He played my Kay at a workshop....it has never sounded better.

Time to practice...or save for a Cleveland

I have a strong bias towards Clevelands w/Weichs myself. As I get better as a player, the bass responds and interacts with me that much more.

As a regular electric bassist who's been patrolling the double bass half of the site recently, that was awesome! I'm really interested in getting an upright and really digging the sound. Not having any known artists to listen to and seek out this post was very informative. Thanks for sharing!
