'53 Kay S-8

Here is the new owner of the fine bass SuperSue decided to sell. If you look close, I broke the D-string tuning it. We had to play the next afternoon, so I put an Eurosonic ultralight on with the Dominants. Even with the odd combination, we were just blown away at the volume, tone and all around punch of the S-8.

Of course, they're notorious for that-- the G and E especially.

Yes, indeed. Beautious.

This one looks darker than mine, a 1939 S-8. This could be the lighting or color settings on the camera or computer.

May it give you many years of joyful music . . .
