It seems there is a newbie newbie here on TB every day or so looking for advice. Their queries usually are similar to these:
1) Is this $500 Ebay bass any good?
2) I've been playing electric bass for a few years and just want something to learn on. How much would a decent bass cost?
3) With a $2500 budget, should I look for a plywood or carved bass?
4) Related: How can I tell if my bass is carved?
Although most of the regulars here on TBDB welcome anyone contemplating the lifelong frustration of trying to tame the magnificent beast, I hope it won't be considered rude to point the recently curious to the following resources:
The first has been at the top of the Bass page for over six years, with the request to 'please read before posting new topics'. 'Nuf said.
BASS FORUM LINKS (Newbie Links): PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING NEW TOPICS
The following seem to me to contain some very sound advice.
