| advice for selling hi all -
i have a 1/2-size, glossy orange, chinese (?) plywood bass that's got some cosmetic damage, along with a fiberglass/synthetic hair bow that i'm thinking about selling.
it sounds... ok. got me through a few years of community orchestra gigs, and brought some pretty textures to a rock-oriented songwriting project i did a few years ago.
i have no idea about provenance or brand; i rented it for years from a music store in jersey, and eventually had rented it for long enough that they just gave it to me.
i'm not looking to "make" money on it... if i can make enough to buy a set of decent strings, or other paraphernalia, i'd be happy.
trouble is, i know i'm not selling something fantastic. i know, for example, if any of you saw it on craigslist, you'd probably post it here with a "get a load of this guy" thread. but it really is playable. maybe for a young, young student. it's not garbage, anyhow. it shouldn't be scrapped.
any advice on where and/or how to sell it? and what might be a reasonable asking price ($300?)? before anyone asks, i haven't taken pictures of it yet. and i know there's a special section for "for sale" items... i'm not looking to sell anything here (yet, anyhow), just looking for some advice.
