Is anyone familiar with a european doublebass maker named Aerts?

This is a 5-string made in Belgium in the 1970s if that helps.

Hmz, no idea, he should be belgian, I'll ask around. I DO know a mighty fine bass player called Philippe Aerts

Philippe Aerts must be much more famous than his bas making relative, because that's about all that comes up in various internet searches that I've tried!

yes, P. Aerst is one of the more acclamed bassists in belgium,
very good technique and good sense of pulse...
psycho, I'm also in belgium; are you in brusels?

I live in between Antwerp and Ghent now, but I'm thinking of moving to Ghent.

ps: Philippe gave classes @ Dworp Jazz summerschool last year, hope he'll be teaching there again this year
