Most importantly, the overall sound follows the same road. This is an immediately mature sounding bass that would make any orchestra player very happy. |

| | | | Thanks, Wil.
I'd love to see a close-up of the grain on the back.
What are the bumpers made of?
The Walnut apparently came from Ken's stash. Ken or Arnold, can you tell me about the Walnut? Where is it from? Arnold, how do you match the color of the Spruce with the Walnut?
Any other challenges with this bass? |

As an orchestral instrument this bass leaves nothing to be desired. The choice of walnut in addition to the long body length produces a tone and volume years beyond its age.
The extension adds a register that reminds us why we play the bass in the first place.
There are many players who tenaciously cling to the idea that new or modern basses will never sound as good as antique basses. Instruments like this walnut bass are finally putting these theories to the test. www.bostonbassworks.com

Bri | One test is a ppp upbow starting at the tip. This bass sounds immediately. Tone, and no mechanical noise whatsoever.
I've edited this and the prior post a bit. I don't want to look like I'm gloating. But damn, I'm happy.

Send 'em on in Dono | I don't know how to get them into my website in order to put a link in a post. Last time, Toad put them on his site and sent me the addresses. Ed didn't name me Donosaurus without reason.

We had a power failure several hours ago, but I believe I haven't lost anything. Why do I back up my files only after I lose them?
OK. To work.
