AES Walnut 5 String

I was there on the farm Tuesday night when the moon lined up with Jupiter and Mercury. We strung up Arnold's Walnut 5 string for the first time... A bass was born. This is Arnold's first 5 string and he did a fine job. The rest of you will have to wait until he finishes the final touches. Have fun.

If Jennifer Lopez was a bass

On her best day, Jennifer Lopez didn't look as good from behind as Arnold's latest walnut bass. Pictures will be available shortly. Prepare to be stunned.

This will be the first time a side-by-side ass & bass comparison picture gallery will be in order.

Now we're talkin'. Drub's suggestions would get us all banned, but I heard UncleToad had a drawer full of G-strings at his house, so surely the mods would let us get away with lower bout/G-string comparison pics of J-Lo vs. Low-D.

This thread has my attention. Anything Arnold builds will be amazing, but he's built a 5? Man, I'm drooling just thinking about that.

all the best.

Can't wait to see it!

The other night, my wife and I heard a band that featured a fine fiver. On the way home, she said she had never heard of a five-string double bass. The next day, she brought it up again and said she was surprised I didn't have one.

It sorta sounded like an invitation to get one, so I'm very curious to see what Arnold has come up with.

Sorta?! I just checked the chapter on WAF (wife acceptance factor) in the Double Bass Owners Manual by Charles Trigger. It turns out that a statement like that is considered to be an unfettered license, my friend. Go for it!

+1`Les!

As a long-time husband (27th Anniversary tomorrow, 32 years total!) I saw that and thought, 'he'd better get a deposit into Arnold right away!

Dear Drurb and Jake,

Mrs. Wineaux here. You guys need to stop enabling Wineaux. Three basses are plenty. And here's what I really said the other day: "Five strings? Don't you think you should figure out what to do with four strings first?

Others have tried to tell me that Wineaux's fascination basses is cheaper than a blonde or a little red sports car. Bull! Have you seen the prices those blondes are bringing at Upton and some of those other places Wineaux has bookmarked and thinks I don't notice?

As for the little red sports car, Wineaux already had one of those -- paid off, thank you very much -- but he sold it and bought something bigger so he could haul his bass. Then he bought two more basses, so I guess next is a van or a fleet.

And still you guys encourage him to look at a five-string. Stop already.

As for J-Lo, I'm not worried. He wouldn't know how to play her, either.

I'm just saying.

Mrs. Wineaux
