Cool Age of my C-1 Kay bass?

I tried looking this up on the 'net awhile back and got frustrated with the search. Can anyone help me out?
Here's the serial number: 31406.
It's got a large belly than the Kay basses I played in High School in the '60's, I got this one in '77 and with all the great sound it makes and the kudos I get when I play it, I doubt that I'll ever get rid of it.

Yours is most likely a '53.

Cool

Hey, thanx guys. I don't know why I couldn't find that serial number site when I was looking years ago, My 20 year old refinishing job isn't the best, but it's better than it was after spending time in the Navy salvage yard in Hawaii..... I never purfled it either, I may refinish it again sometime in the future. I'll have to download some pictures, I guess, thought I had some in my computer, but they aren't there.
