ALL CAPS BASS EVALUATION NEEDED

I HAVE A 3/4 BASS THAT WAS FOUND IN A JUNK PILE THAT A SCHOOL USED
I PLAYS PRETTY WELL BUT THE SOUND ON THE OPEN G STRING IS PRETTY LOW
I PUT NEW STRINGS ON AND WHEN I DID THE SOUND POST CAME LOOSE SO I STUCK IT BACK IN AND IT MIGHT BE IN THE WRONG PLACE
INSIDE IT SAYS
ERNST HRINRICH ROTH BUBENREUTH ERLANGEN 1966 AG0383
CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF ITS WORTH KEEPING
THX

YES
YR WLCM

Note, if you are uncertain about the position of the sound post, loosen the strings and take it to a luthier.

Post moved to its own thread so as not to derail the previous one.

A Roth bass from '66 could certainly be worthwhile depending on the condition it's in. I got my first bass basically off the junk pile from the university after a festival. Take it to a luthier ASAP and get it evaluated.
