Now, add a C extension to that bass -- no -- better yet, re-do the tuning machine box with the extension integrated so it is a 1+3 arrangement with the usual adjustible stops, and not just an add-on extension, and I'm there.

| | | | My Blonde It took about a year to build including the time to build the mold, 60 spool clamps and various fixtures to hold the plates during carving. I could have bought a real nice ply bass for what I have in materials. It was a great experience. I don't have any specialized equipment and most of the carving of the neck and both plates was done by hand with gouges and finger planes. I build fiddles and it was kinda like making a fiddle, just A LOT more labor intensive. Pals, Vic. |
