I can confirm Dave's opinion of his bass. He was so gracious this past Feburary to allow my son to use this fine instrument as we visited the Tacoma area for the Wintergrass Festival.
The 2 American Standards at my house are in wonderful shape and I wanted them to stay in that condition. When my son got a call to travel to play this gig with Randy Kohrs
www.randykohrs.net I contacted the folks here with questions about flying a bass.
Then, I got a call in to Barry Bales (bassist for Alison Krauss) and when he told me that he didn't try to fly HIS basses, I knew that I didn't need to try to do anything similar with mine.
That's when Dave McCartney stepped up to the plate and offered his bass for Aaron to use while we were there for the weekend.
It's like all the other New Standard basses you see others raving about here on TalkBass. It is a good bass and if I didn't have 2 old ones here at home, I'd consider obtaining one of these fine instruments.
