Question Any comments on Engelhardt ES-1 models?

I wanted to see if anyone has any comments regarding an Engelhardt ES-1?

I have seen plenty of comments regarding my position about buying an old plywood Meisel being converted to lefty.

I just found out that I could buy a new lefty ES-1 for close to the price that my budget will allow.

BTW, what colors do they come in? Gollihur's site shows only a honey gold shade.

Any info, pro or con, would be appreciated.

The honey gold transparent finish is the stock color; I can special order other finishes at an additional cost. Contact me off-board for details.

ES-1

Recently sold my 12-year old S-1. I sold it because I purchased a carved bass and couldn't justify keeping two. The S-1 is built like a tank with decent tone. I've played it with spirocores and obligatos. Thought the obligatos worked better for the type of music I was playing. The neck is a little thin for my taste, but you'll get used to it. The S-1 will hold their value.
