Any info about MAYER KREMONA DB fully carved?

Hi to all.
I'm in a search for new instrument, and I've found a Bulgarian company that makes guitars, violins, double basses, etc.
http://www.kremonausa.com/index.php?...rie=42&main=11
The Mayer DB model seems to be their best model, hand made fully carved.

I would like to ask you if someone has ever played this model and what is his opinion.

I post the 2 photos they sent to me.

I would greatly appreciate any help!

By the grace of Thrace,

My Kremona, is a resounding

4/4 5-string double bass!

I have been playing it for about 2 years now, and I love this instrument. I find the description on the new KremonaUSA.com website quite accurate. It has a nice even voice, is very resonant whether played pizzacato or arco. I got mine shipped direct by Bob Gollihur Music. Mine is not the Mayer model, but is what is now called a Rubner. It is also fully carved. It has a nitrocellulose finish. Now the maker is using a spirit varnish on the Rubner, possibly the Mayer as well. I would think that would sound just as good as nitrocellulose and is a more traditional looking finish. And the purfling on the back below the button is now also more ornate with the company initials inlaid in script within a device similar to the pattern seen on many fine European basses.

I can solidly endorse a Kremona, but I don't know what the difference between the Mayer and the Rubner would be as far as sound goes. You might not find someone who can directly comment on the Mayer because it is obviously a new model. It is not mentioned or pictured on the Kremona-Bulgaria Ltd. web site, which is probably soon to be obsolete. Even in the photo of Xavier Padilla, he is playing the Rubner. The Mayer does look like the fancier model with the little ebony trimming at the shoulders.
