So pedrazzini get's a big thumbs up? I'm heading over to Knooren's place in holland on monday to have a look at it. Also Checking out a 1790 Pillement that he's lined up for me. Anyone tried one of those?

the pillement looks and sounds very nice, but its difficult to reach the f/f# on the g-string.
i think the scroll is not original, iirc. but it´s very well made and looks very nice.
i really liked the bass.
i´ve seen a scroll in a shop in paris that looked like it could have been the original one, two days later.

if you are in holland you should also visit jürgen preyer (www.contrabassen.nl) and rene zaal

Yeah, I thought the shoulders looked a bit high. He has a few other basses I'm interested in too so either way the trip will be worth it. Thanks for the other link. What do you think of this place www.worldofbasses.de?
