Anyone own a UB Professor in the Pacific NW?

Hello: I live in Seattle and I am interested in checking out the various Upton Bass models with highest interest in the the UB Professor. Is there an owner nearby that would allow me to come check it out?

Thanks!

Chuck

I haven't been able to find anyone are here that plays one. I'd love to find one if they do. Seems like a good portion of the luthiers\sellers around here are big proponents of Shens.

Thanks for the tip.. maybe the reason a lot of the guys in NY play Uptons and New Standards is because they don't have to travel far to get them .

Well if I was to order a bass sight unseen, I would probably order an Upton bassed on the opinions of a number of players I respect that have good things to say about them (and the fact that Gary was a great help, even though I didn't have the money to get one at the time). I'm going to be buying a bass in February but I've been playing a lot of basses here in Oregon and I've found a number of decent deals for good basses in local luthier shops. If you have that much for a bass, there are local options as well.
