Arnold/Lou

Hey Arnold...I saw somewhere in the stuff involving the ISB convention that Lou Pappas did a lecture on something. I was curious if he had your beautiful Montagnana pattern bass with him, and did you get to hear it? If so, did you notice any changes in terms of sound and/or playability?

Yes, Lou had the bass there. I helped him warm up one day by comping on piano while he played some blues lines. His sound was huge. I like to think the bass has opened up, but I'm sure Lou could pull tone from a cigar box.

Yeah, he's one of the good cats, John. He spent time in Colorado. We did some hangin'.
I was thrilled when I heard about his aquisition of Arnolds wonderful bass.
