Article about Dragonetti's Gasparo

Here is an article that explains the most recent history of Dragonetti's favorite bass, his alleged Gasparo da Salo.
I couldn't be happier that it is being restored. An instrument of this magnitude should be played for all of us to enjoy.

To answer Ken's question..I can't be sure. I have always believed that Dragonetti's "main" bass was in the attic of an Italian convent or church, away from the public eye and untouched since his death. If that is true, then this was "just" probably another in his collection. Regardless, it's a keeper !
