Bass in Billings, MT for Yellowstone Jazz Fest

Anyone have a bass to rent for 7/14,15, & 16? I'd need it for the Yellowstone Jazz Fest and 1 other area gig.

Thanks, Brian <bribass@gmail.com>

I was lucky enough to borrow a bass there, a couple of decades ago, from the bassist in the Big Sky Mudflaps. You might be able to track something down, by contacting them...just an idea.

While Hamilton is about 5-6 hours away from Billings, "The Flaps" certainly know the MT scene.

Hey,

We were both at Arnold's today! I was coming in while you were leaving, but I didn't really get the opportunity to talk.

Best,
Brian

Thanks for the suggestions.

yeah, I'm just gonna take the Time Zone bass. I was just trying gage renting/ borrowing (& then taking a chance on quality & set up) vs. oversize costs etc. for the leaner travel budget on this tour, but w/ the TZ it'll certainly be less baggage $ than a regular DB in a hard case and I know I'll have a great bass to perform with. It's packed & ready.

If I take removal neck out of the hard case and carry on board I'm hoping they may let me slide on the weight charges since that'll bring the weight down closer to 55lbs. The reduced size scroll will make that easier too as it makes for a shorter RN length.

I'm still using the prototype case, but I'm hoping the next generation case will also be lighter and maybe a bit smaller. As it is it's 97 linear inches well under the 100 inch limit by some airlines.

Sorry we didn't get to talk Brian. What are you doing up in these parts?

Bri

Visiting wife's family, got some consultation on my bass from Arnold, and on a *possible* bass hunt.

Have fun in Montana. Raise a crop of dental floss while you're out there!

Perhaps you might be able to deliver some string beans to Utah?
