Bass peg holder ?

Mine is a bit loose on a project DB, are they just pressure fit or glued in? As I cant make the holder bigger if they are pressure fit, any point in plugging the old hole & drilling a new in in the plug/dowel? TIA Dubliner.

It is a tapered fit but if you can get it out sometimes water in the hole. Then wait for it to dry will swell it enough that it will fit snug. Just try not to drop the post.
