Bass Presentation a Success

I gave my presentation on the Bass yesterday to a senior's ministry at a local church in Indiana. I created a 53 image powerpoint slide show. As well as giving an overview about the bass in every respect. i.e. history, construction, different parts, how it works, music theory as related to bass, its evolution in different music venues, etc etc.

At the conclusion I demonstrated by playing on a Double Bass then an Electric Bass.

Although not many questions were asked...some mentioned later that I answered every question that they ever wondered about, pertaining to the Bass.

The education and help with images from this forum was taken to a group of folks who really seemed to be blest by it. Hence, Thanks to all for your help. This website is an asset to our musical culture as well as our society in general.

*at the conclusion of my presentation a delicious hot catered meal was enjoyed by all*

Thanks a heap!

Congrats on your efforts! Glad it was a success. What pieces did you play to demonstrate DB and BG? See, music education IS a life long endeavor.

Tis !

Well I started out with a very scholarly Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.... then I donned on my hat and sunglasses and commenced with a blues bogey run, in the key of G that got more intense each time I ripped through it. In the spirit of simplicity I wound down with a little bit of Mary Had a Little Lamb...same key.

Frankly I don't know if they were mesmerized or not? But no tomatoes were thrown...so maybe it spun their beanie a little bit anyway.
