I don't own a flight trunk, so I'm trying to convince the people hiring my band to fund a rental instead of flying my bass. Is there anyplace out that way that rents decent basses? I know of Hammond-Ashley, but I wanted to consult the forum to see if there are any other sources as well.
Thanks!

Seeing as I've never been to Walla Walla, I don't know the time it would take to get from one place to another, but I'm estimating a good 5 hours. And from here to Vancouver it's 45 minutes, and then another 30-45 (depending on traffic) to find your way around to Portland from there...both cities have some good bass places. Like Maureen Pandos' shop, and Pete's Bass Shop, too. I'm guessing that it'd be just as a last resort that you would want to check some of these faraway places out...I'll try and ask around to see if there are any closer rental places to Walla Walla.
But whatever happens...while you're there, make sure to get some onions! ;D |

Drop me a PM if no other options open up, I know of one player in WW who might be willing to help out a brother bassist.
Good Luck,

Thanks kindly for the replies, I truly appreciate them. The gig in questions fell through, but only for the time being. Looks like they'd rather have us come out for an even bigger event in early November, it seems.
So I'll likely be sending you a PM down the road a little, John! |

The Ted Brown's in Tacoma had a Richter 4000 in the back and I just picked it up as a rental at the store here in Richland. Got a jazz thing going in the Tri-Cities and I want to see if the DB works or if I want to stick to the electric. W/W is about a 70/80 miles away from where I'm at. If you are going to definately be in the area, send me a PM. I have this for then next six months if I don't agree to buy it first. (They would have wanted a six month minimum, anyway). I might could talk the wife into an outing - W/W has some fine wineries out there.
You posted on Craig's List a while back?
Luck,
