Bass shops in Europe?

I am visiting Europe for a few weeks in August and I thought I would like to stop by some bass shops perhaps. I cant buy anything but thought it would be fun to play some basses from the motherland.

I will be in Cologne, Germany for a while. I will also be in Switzerland for a short while, and will be around the Italian riviera and in Sicily.

Got any recommendations? Thanks

Cool Germany..

I know of 2 from the web;

http://www.kort-basses.com/defaulten.html

http://www.worldofbasses.de/

I am sure there are more but you will either have to ask when you get there or Google it..

In Switz, I have a Friend in the Gtr. Dist Biz.. Musik Olar.. They may know of some shops. They are in Zurich I believe... Zolfingen?

WOB has my Batchelder on loan from Biase in NY as well as dozens of Basses as good and better than that.

I think Bob Gollihur's "Bass Luthier Directory Project" might be a good place to start your search, also a peruse through the Double Bass Sales, Bows, Parts section on Bobs site as well.

Dave, my shop is only about 50km from Cologne, and there's Vektor-bass.de very close too. Between us we have about 30 basses you can try. Give me a call (number on the website) when you're in Cologne or pm me and I'll send you details on how to get here.
