Bass teachers in Western / North Western Sydney

Hi all,

I am currently saving for my first DB, (a 5-string Gliga II) which I hope to have around Feruary 2010. (I have a few electric basses and am finally making the switch).

I am keen to find a teacher in my area (Quakers Hill) before I get the bass so I will be ready to go from day 1.

I intend to learn both jazz and classical andam not fussed which comes first.

If anyone on here can reccomend a teacher somewhere in my area it'd be greatly appreciated. I know of some a little further afield, but being short of time I don't want to be spending excessive amounts of time travelling to lessons!

Cheers

Wish I could help you out but I think its probably best to look up music tuition places to see what they offer. Ultimately if you want a good education, especially classical you may look at the uni of sydney.

BTW is that the flatback custom made 5 string gliga?

If its the one they have to build per order, try talking to your supplier about the hybrid setup youre ultimately going to have. You can ask about neck angles etc.

IMO youre ultimately going to have a bass thats closer to a classical setup then a jazz setup with this bass.

Yeah, it's the Gliga 5 string. I have not quite ordered it yet, and to tell you the truth the stuff you mentioned (angles) I am not really familiar with but I will look into that in more detail before I put dollars down! Thanks.

I no longer have the fairlane... I had a '76 500 and a '77 Marquis (so comfy, was like driving a couch). Beautiful cars, would love to get one again, maybe one that has been made into a hearse (good band car).

As I have not found anyone yet, how about players in the North West of Sydney that have not taught yet but are strong in the basic and interested in teaching...?
