Bass transportation - How to make it easier on others and yourself.

Rather than resurrecting a dead thread, I thought i'd just start a new one. How do you guys carry around your basses?
Because of my uni work, I have to carry both an electric and a upright bass (my main instrument). I usually put my electric on my back and then carry my upright by the bottom of the upper bout through the case with the neck going over my shoulder. Over my other shoulder goes my bag with all my music in it. It is really hard to balance with all that gear on, especially jumping to and from trains like I have to. I feel like a pack mule. What about you guys?

I made a cart with a felt and padding lined slot for my bass and a velcro closed bag for music and other items built in. I also strap my stool to it. Think of it as a bass dolly.

I bought a Bass Buggy from KcStrings and I am waiting for it to come in the mail. I imagine it will make my life a lot easier. Let it be known, I will be living off packet noodles and handouts from my uni's canteen for weeks because I indulged in such a thing.

As far as carrying goes, my bag has two handles on it: one on the right side upper bout and one on the lower left bout above a pocket. Usually I'll take hold of the upper handle with my right hnad and grab the neck with my left, but some times I'll reach down and grip the other handle. Gotta watch how high it goes if I do that! Everything including music, cloth, rosin, tuner, and bow goes in the various pockets. Otherwise it goes in the van.

It's a 1/2 size so it's probably easier than normal.
