Bass Wheel

Not sure where to put this, sorry.

I just got an ONYX bass wheel, the shaft seems to be welded in place, and the filed angles on shaft make rolling my bass a pain. ( I usually roll it cello style, i.e. bridge forward, but its impossible right now) I've tried tinkering with it, the shaft won't budge! Is there a trick?

Thanks

Not sure about the onyx wheel, but a buddy of mine has actually broken the shaft on his a couple times... If you end up trying something else, I highly recommend the kc strings bass buggie. I'm also in nyc and I can tell you first hand its amazing. It's puts no stress on the end block and is super smooth to push around. The bass can also stand up on its own which is great when I need both hands. Goodluck. See you around....

That sounds like a big change...or an old design.

The Onyx I have uses a bolt-on shaft...I actually changed from 12mm to 1/2" shafts. And both shafts had two flat sides so you can wheel the bass either direction.
