Arrow BellaFina Prima anyone own or played is it good!!???

Hey everyone like to say I honor everyone on here. What do you all think of the Bellafina Prima bass listed for $1500 at http://www.wwbw.com/Bellafina-Prima-...-i1416498.wwbw I know there are wonderful and great Productions out like the Upton..., well its out of my range this site offers a credit plan where i can pay monthly. and so far from their site this is the one that I eyed out being a 3/4 and "carved". I am starting on the upright, but have been on the electric for about 12 years now, looking to do serious gigs within months in the Jazz and even classical genre, will also incorporate some r&b/Gospel.... I am very critical for a balanced sound and feel, knowing that i might have to get it set up. But other than that can you all help me out with this I was trying to decide between the Prima "fully Carved" and the Bionda http://www.wwbw.com/Bellafina-Bionda...-i1462860.wwbw that seems to be fully laminated. So if any one had either please give me some feed back I cant find any videos or sound sample online... Thank you all be well!!!

Let me give you some recommended reading, all of which I found by using the search function, which I recommend you try (there is a lot of information in old threads).

Bellafina Bass...Good for the money??

How it all went "Sorry, kinda long"

HELP!! DOUBLE BASS DAMAGE!!

OK another CCB vs Englehardtpost

IN A NUT SHELL...USA PLYWOOD OR CARVED CCB?

In a real bind to find a cheap DB

Let me give you my advice: a cheap bass from an online retailer that does not have a solid track record for selling uprights is a risk. Buying a cheap carved bass is particularly risky.

I recommend you seek another funding source for a loan and purchase a bass from somewhere with a solid track record. You could also buy used if you have someone experienced to evaluate your purchase. 1500 should be plenty to get an instrument you can enjoy making music with. Or you could rent.

My first bass purchase was a used Engelhardt for $800 and with a little added work and money it was great for all the applications you mention, including classical. Also, if you want to play classical, you will also need to factor in the cost of a bow. A careful bow purchase is very important for your future arco enjoyment. Buying a really cheap bow (which is very tempting for a beginning arco player) is a very big mistake.

I hope that my advice does not dampen your enthusiasm. I hope to encourage you to explore your options! Are there any places near you where you could go check out some basses? Do you have a teacher or potential teacher who can offer you some advice? Where are you located?

For $1500 you can get a known good quality Shen SB80 already set up by a good shop. There are many that sell these. Where are you located?

Yeah, I got my first Shen on a rent to buy program. Rented it for 2 years at $40 a month and at the end I could have bought it for a few hundred bucks. Decided to go on an upgrade to get the hybrid though.
