200 years? Didn't know they had plywood back then. Here's what I sent to the seller;
"That looks to be a 20th century Czech Plywood Bass. The finish and outer rib linings give it away. If that is an Italian Bass, I am from the planet Neptune!"
Let's see how he replies. By the way, I am looking at a Bass right now that has been in London for about 100 years or so and they claim it is and has always been known to be a Bergonzi as well. I have the pics and I am not sure if it is Italian or English but IS a beautiful old Bass. If I get involved in this possible real Bergonzi, I will make a thread. Until then, I am still checking out the origin and maker of this one. |
