Borrowing a Double bass

Hi!

I have couple of gigs in Berlin (7.,8.Mar.)and I'd like to know if there's a shop or someone/something that could lend me double bass for 2 days.
They booked our flight with Germanwings and they are really not helpfull.

''Can I take musical instruments with me as hand baggage?

We will accept musical instruments as hand baggage providing they are no larger than a guitar.

With larger sized pieces of luggage, we differentiate as follows:

Those in a soft case: musical instruments in a soft case cannot be transported as checked baggage and you must therefore book an additional seat (subject to availability) for them.
If you are transporting your instrument in a hard case, it can be stowed in the hold. In this event, the weight of the instrument is deducted from your free baggage allowance.
Double basses cannot be transported in the cabin under any circumstances due to their length. (hello!)
Germanwings does not accept any liability for musical instruments transported in the cabin.''

I don't have flight case.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks for any help,idea, ...

Try www.kort-basses.com, they are dealers in Berlin. If they can't help, they may know someone who can?

What did you do?

Hey Keko -

When you get a chance, clue us in to what you arranged, so any of us going to that part of Germany later on can have a starting point . . .
