BOTTESINI's TESTORE: where it it today?

BOTTESINI's TESTORE: where it it today?

Dear Collegues,
I'm making a research about Giovanni Bottesini's doublebass: the Testore.
Does someone of you know where it's today?

My friend Tom Martin, who has played it a lot of times during some recitals,
probably won't tell me where it's today, In few words where it's possible to see him and eventually play it.

You must know that the history of this double bass is incredible. Where Bottesini found it, how he paid it and all the history regarding the century later. Probably is it in French? Or China?

Boohhh...

Thanks in advance.

My best bass regards

Vito Liuzzi

p.s.:OT
One doublebass player can think that Testore was a very good instrument.
It's no true! It's a normal sized old instrument with a no great sound.
The low register is quite good but less the high one. Dragonetti Gasparo da Salò is much and much better. This from my sources of those have played it.

ASAP on my site, if you like, you will find all Bottesini's life, works and so on also in English. I have the translations, but sincerly I ve no time to add them. What do you think? Is it the most complete source in all over the world about Bottesini. In my little site you can find the Italian book that you can freely download. Surely the most important part is the one in which you can find all Bottesini compositions and where you van find the manuscript.

From what I understand it is owned by an amateur orchestra player in Japan.

You can also find a nice article on it by Stephan Krattenmacher in the Double Bassist issue 13. There is a picture of bassist Dave Green on the cover.

Thank you, Adrian.

I don't have no. 13 of Double Bassist.

I know that Krattenmacher has written something. But I don't have his article.

I would like to read it! But I don't think there's someone who can charge here o scannerized the hole article an send it to me. Adrian, if you can do something I let thank you in advance.

In the opposite case, don't worry. Life goes on as well !!

Bass regards

Vito

There's no the name of the owner, actually.

Help me in the translation, please: the owner is a unknown amateur japanes doublebass player. Petracchi, that I well personally know, has no told me in Holland!! That's, the article has been written some years ago. My friend Tom Martin has played it, so Petracchi. But in that time, the Testore went to Holland. I understand that the unknown owner is always a Japanese and the Testore has returned back to Japan where now it is. Isn' it? Am I right or not?

Thanks a lot.

Vito

p.s.: but none of you knows the owener's name !! Tom and maestro Petracchi surely to know it! Ok, when I go to Rome I will try to know it. It's for my personal researches.
