Bow Marks Adroit

I've never heavily used the bow before as I do now, and it's starting to look like a beaver lives in my pocket whenever I'm done with a long session. I never had this problem when I played cello.

The right side of the bass is being abused.

Is there anything to help remedy the situation? Suggestions? Can I fill in the white scratchmarks with a Pantone marker?

I wouldn't touch up your bass with a marker, the varnish should be touched up with...varnish! If it were me I'd leave it until I had refined my technique enough to not tear up my bass any more, and then get it fixed up professionally.

I was being tounge in cheek about the whole affair, thanks for listening anyway.

Of course I'm not going to take a marker to it.

As far as "refining my technique"...you're going to end up with a few scratches from the bow if you...y'know...actually use a bow! Technique is not the primary issue here. I'm not crudely tearing up my bass, but that's my fault for trying to start a humourous thread. I was just bored. Talkbass is turning into "searchbass" as I spend more time reading the archives and would like to see some actual live conversations from time to time.

Oh well, back to the lurker's lair with me.
