Does anyone know if all of the King Mortone basses produced have a long mensure? I've seen them as long as 43.5". I'm intrigued by these instruments but very little info can be found on them.

The King Moretone and the American Standard have (I believe) the same scale length of 43". My Standards are set to this length and there's a Moretone here at the house that is currently unplayable due to being stripped and refinished. It had been painted black at some point.
I had a '39 King Moretone, and the string length on that one was 43.5". Surprisingly, I did not have much problem switching between it and my 41" scale Meisel.
