Very well padded and I like the built in wheels on it. But, I've noticed, after putting the bass in the bass, I can still move it around a bit. I havent really measure how much extra space there is. But, if I have it sitting on its side and grab the end pin (while its still in the bag), I can move it up and down a bit within the bag, if thats makes sense.. The bag is for a 3/4 bass though.. Is this anything to really be worried about??
Also, how do you all keep the end pin from tearing a hole through the bottom of the bag? Where the two zippers meet is a "unzippered" slot for the endpin to sit in but it never stays there due to the slack it has moving within the bag..I would leave the rubber tip on the end pin but Im afraid I'll loose it one day..

| | | | Depends Bobby,
Just because a bag bag is listed at 3/4 size, be sure that there can be a great variation in size among different brands. Lemur Music, and I bet there are others, specfically lists the dimensions of the bags they sell and asks you to measure your bass and compare it to the dimensions of the bag. There is quite a big degree of difference among manufacturers.
I recently bought a bass bag and, although I really liked many features of it, I decided to return it because it was just too big for the bass and transporting any distance did not work at all. Even doing some measurements prior to buying, it still was not a good fit. I would think if you have a wheel attachment that you would want a tight fitting bag. Have you tried transporting it any distance to see how it transports?

My bag is probably like many of yours. A large piece of canvas with a few pockets and a zipper. But I'm looking for one that is already "formed" so it's easier to work with. So it's sturdier and I can just lay my bass inside. |

But I want to prevent any future issues from happening.
I had measure the bass before I went to the shop and give him the number.. So, supposedly, he ordered what I needed.. |

Bobby....does your bag have a strap you can tighten at about the place where the neck joins the body? I've got a Mooradian bag and tightening that belt really helps to snug it up to the bass.
Also, and i don't know what others think, but I take my endpin out and put it in the bow pocket. Then you just zipper right around the collar and nothing is exposed. It takes a second to reinstall the pin once I get to the gig.

opaa!! | A bag that's too big can be real bad news. If the scroll material or another piece of fabric, gets baught on the edge of an upper or lower bout, and then slips loose when you're picking it up, bam....broken neck, or broken upper or lower bout.
If you want a wheel, just buy one and put it in the bag pocket when the gig is over. Many cases have a pocket just for that piece of equipment. I need an extra large pocket for that particular piece of equipment. .....

They are more pricey than your average cover, but fit to the right size bass, they are almost magical to use.

Yea I just checked them out. They look nice! But they are actually formed right? I just hate using a standard bag and struggling with getting it in. I just want a formed case I can lay my bass in and i'm done. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
