Carved Wood or Plywood?

Primarly for Rockabilly playing I know plywood is more durable, but would it be worth getting a carved top? I know generally the pro's and con's of each, but any feedback on this I'd appreciate greatly.

ps. I also plan to be playing other generes, like jazz/psychobilly, rockabilly is top priority though.

Given that the genres of music you'll be playing are amplified and tone isn't a huge consideration, I'd go with the ply.
