They are not yet on their we site but you can order them by calling or emailing. They have them available with no pocket in black and maroon and with a pocket in black. I ordered another black one. |

Bibs help protect basses from belt buckles, buttons, pencils, tie clips, whathaveyou, that would otherwise murl up the instrument's finish. Even with a bib, its good to turn one's belt buckle to the right...
Helps the finish intact in the spots where human clothing and/or sweat can do some harm.
The thinking seems to be that it can be a nice thing to do for an instrument that a person wants to keep in good shape. |

| | that video LIES | | Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Northern California | | Thank you- it's not in wikipedia. Talkbass(esp DB)[is greater than]wiki.
Edit: This is all a bit moot w/my DB; it looks as if it's been dragged behind a horse(the edges are so rough that a bib would actually protect me ), and because of my incessant slab-flipping* I habitually turn my belt to avoid the devaluing effects of the dreaded rash- even when I'm nowhere near a bass.
*Buy, fail to fall in love, sell, rinse, repeat monthly.

You got me thinking (oops) and looking. Here's one that is full-length and corduroy. http://www.contrabass.co.uk/bassbib.htm
Too bad about the current exchange rate...

Too bad about the current exchange rate... | Whoa! I forgot about that one! There's "full-length" and then there's "full-length." I was considering the Gage one "full-length" but now that you point this one out, I guess we'd have to call the Gage one "mid-length." I think the full-length one makes the bass look like it's trying to impersonate Count Dracula.
A note on "short bibs." I used to have a Kolstein bib. It fastens around the neck and just hangs on the upper bout. One time, I put the bass down and the bib spun around onto the floor. When I went to pick up the bass, I inadvertently stepped on the bib and then lifted the neck. I got it a few inches off the floor when WHAM!-- the bass was yanked back down to the floor. Fortunately, there was no damage. No more short bibs for me. It's called "one-trial learning." |

It seems a little pointless, unless of course you are planning on reselling the bass. I don't know. Sorry if i have offended anyone who loves bibs. |
